Fall is in the air! Fall is one of the best times to get out and find some great new hikes in your area. Check out some of these great hikes in the general NYC area.
John Kieran Trail
Level: Easy
Length: 1.25 miles
Found in the Van Cortlandt Park, this trail travels through near the lake and wetland areas of the park.
John Muir Trail
Level: Moderate
Length: 1.5 miles
Also in the Van Cortlandt Park, this particular trail is the only trail in the park that goes from east to west. The John Muir Trail also goes through three different types of forests, giving a diverse ecological view of the park.
Pelham Bay Park
Level: Mixed
Length: Mixed
Located on Hunter Island, this island is home to a variety of trails, some long, some short, some easy or hard. If you want to make your own hike, this is the place for you.
There are many great hikes in the greater NYC area, some other places to checkout are Marine Park, the Greenbelt, and Inwood Hill Park.
